Science Leader: | Mrs C. Koripilli |
Our science curriculum uses a question-based approach based on the Thinking, Doing, Talking Science model to encourage higher-order thinking amongst all learners, giving all children the chance to develop a firm understanding of the world around them. Carefully sequenced lessons allow the children to lead their own investigations, strengthening their ability to work scientifically alongside enhancing their substantive knowledge. Our use of ‘Bright Ideas Time’ within each unit supports the children in reflecting upon and talking about some of the key ideas and themes taught. We view science as a door of opportunity for our children and aim to offer experiences that add to their cultural capital.
