  • Making Money Boxes

This week in Design and Technology, the children in Year 3 have followed the design, make, evaluate process to create their own money boxes. They explored different types of packaging and shell structures, learning how materials can be strengthened and stiffened.

The children practised making nets from card and developed their skills in measuring, cutting, scoring, and assembling 3D shapes. Using these skills, they designed and made money boxes for a chosen user and purpose. Finally, they evaluated their finished products, reflecting on how well they met their design criteria.

It’s been a fun and creative week full of hands-on learning!
