Nursery News - Celebrating 100 Years of Stoke-on-Trent City Status

This half term, the children have been learning all about the 100-year celebration of Stoke-on-Trent becoming a city. As part of this topic, they’ve also been exploring the importance of where they live and their local community.

To support their learning, on Wednesday 25th June, the Nursery children enjoyed a special visit from Stoke City Football Club. Alice, a representative from the club, came in to talk about the team and what happens on a typical match day.

She kindly brought along a signed football shirt for the children to try on, which caused great excitement! Alice also explained what happens when a goal is scored, which led to lots of cheering and celebration from the children.

We had a fantastic morning learning all about our local football club. The children were full of enthusiasm and many proudly shared that they’d love to be professional footballers when they grow up!
