We have ran fast throughout the week as we took on a very important challenge involving… 🥁 The Gingerbread Man! 🍪🏃‍♂️

During our Magic Story Box time, we met a very worried baker who had lost her gingerbread man! She needed our help to find him, so Reception got straight to work. 🔎

We:
🏗️ Made Gingerbread Man traps in Construction to try and catch him!
🎨 Created pictures and posters to help people look out for him.
🧑‍🍳 Made Gingerbread Man models using playdough.
🗺️ The Sunshines also made maps of our journey to school and mapped out the Gingerbread Man's story journey.

Then, at the end of the week… HE FINALLY APPEARED! 🎉🍪

But he had a very important problem. He was worried that all the people and animals would want to eat him because he smelled so delicious! 😋 He asked us to help him smell less delicious.

So, we became scientists! 🧪👃 We used our sense of smell to investigate lots of different smells and decided whether we thought they were nice or not so nice. We then thought about which smells might help the Gingerbread Man. The winner for the WORST smell was… 🧅 ONION! 🧅😂

We have also finally planted our beans from last week! 🌱 We are very excited to watch them grow and see which group can grow the tallest beanstalk! 🌿📏

What a fantastic week of storytelling, problem-solving, creativity, science and teamwork! We are so proud of our little Gingerbread detectives. ❤️
