Message from our Chair of Governors

It is with great pleasure that I warmly welcome you to the St Mark’s CE Primary School website, on behalf of the Local Governing Board. There is a highly committed, experienced and skilful team of governors working very hard to support our Headteacher and staff, and it is a privilege to be part of that. As governors, we hold high aspirations for the school, and we want the very best for all children and staff. It is a great hope that all at St Mark’s will be given the support needed to be able to reach their full potential and to find fulfilment each day.

The Local Governing Body is responsible for all matters relating to St Mark’s CE Primary School, including teaching and learning, safeguarding, health and safety, staffing, premises and ensuring financial accountability, sustainability and the Christian distinctiveness of the school. We report to the Board of Trustees for the Orchard Community Trust. The Local Governing Body meets once every term, acting as a ‘critical friend’, supporting and challenging the Headteacher and other school leaders.
